The name Rust & Pine represents the character of Michigan itself—the weathered, hardworking spirit of rust paired with the strength, simplicity, and wild beauty of pine forests.

Stranger Sessions

Meet the stranger" shoots. They are $150 to sign up for, I do the screening and find the couples I think will like each other. The rule is,  has to both individuals have to bring a cute little "break the ice" gift, maybe a snack. You would get some cool edited pictures and might meet the love of your life that way!

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are primarily photographed on location around Holt, Michigan, Lansing, and surrounding nature parks. We are always happy to recommend scenic pine trails or open fields.

What should we wear for our session?

Neutral tones, earthy rusts, warm greens, and textured fabrics work wonderfully. Once you book, we provide a full styling guide to help you coordinate effortlessly.

How far in advance should I book?

We suggest booking 4 to 8 weeks in advance, especially for autumn sessions which fill up quickly in Mid-Michigan.

When will I receive my photo gallery?

Your carefully edited, high-resolution online gallery is typically delivered within 2 to 6 weeks of your photo shoot.

Do you offer print rights?

Yes, all packages include high-resolution digital files with personal printing rights so you can print your images anywhere you like.

What happens if it rains?

Michigan weather can be unpredictable! If severe weather impacts an outdoor shoot, we will reschedule to the nearest available sunny date without any fee.
